Great post - makes sense from my experience as well. The human capacity to let, BETTER want others do their thinking for them is pretty interesting (psychologically speaking) and disturbing.

What I have liked and respected about you is that you have always giving us enough information to help us DIY.

Thanks! For sure. People do a lot of things, very often subconscious. I like what Alex Hormozi said: We question all our beliefs except the ones we never think to question.

I try my best. But sometimes it’s still complicated and people do need extra guidance, but I prefer it that way.

Good post brother, I almost always wake up feeling hazy with an inflamed sometimes painful gut and gas, also tested positive for methane sibo, any diet/ supplement recommendations?

Thanks! How long before bed is your last meal and what does it consist of?

Patrick Loughran's avatar

Does vary due to work can be anything from 1 hour to 4 hours before, usually is meat (beef, chicken thighs, fish) & veg (butternut squash etc) sometimes some cheese a glass of raw milk also, no starchy carbs

Any onion and garlic?

Rarely, do you think it’s a result of my latest meal?

Most of the time it is, but if someone has sibo, it can get worse over the course of the day. Have you tried a low fodmap diet?

Patrick Loughran's avatar

Currently on scd with some success, I believe I did try low Fodmap years ago, would you recommend it?

Yep exactly I was the same way starting out too. I just wanted someone to tell me exactly step by step what to take and what to eat and magically I’d be healthy. Unfortunately that’s not even close to reality. Really the main thing you need a professional for is to fully narrow down exactly the nature of your problem. Going over diagnostic stuff is a little over my head. But once you know your potential roadblock the rest is gonna depend on yourself. You put out highly effective very easy to understand educational material that’s really 8th grade biology level at most. Then you have to have the discipline and wherewithal to put things into action and troubleshoot and adapt as you go. It does help to ask people smarter than you though but eventually you get to the point where you can find answers to questions yourself.

Appreciate the realism and I am doing, just asking to see if there’s something I’m missing that’s obvious. It’s a process & the benefit is at the end of it I will have an accumulated a good knowledge of the gut and general health. But my word it’s difficult lol.

Wat is your opinion on Ecklonia Cava? Does it lower DHT? Have you tried it before? What are your experiences with it?
